Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Ricardo Lourenco has joined Botswana Premier League champions Jwaneng Galaxy ahead of the 2020/21 season. Lourenco was released by Pirates in July last year despite starring for their MultiChoice Diski Challenge (MDC) team as captain and showed real promise in the playmaker role. The Bidvest Wits academy product also spent time in the Netherlands with PEC Zwolle before joining the Soweto giants but has now opted for a move across the border to reinvigorate his once-promising career. Having been founded in 2014, Galaxy has made a swift ascent as one of the most promising club's in Southern Africa after winning the Botswana top-flight last season with the league cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
