Following his resignation as Bafana Bafana head coach last week, speculation that Stuart Baxter could return to Kaizer Chiefs has been in overdrive. But the Englishman has finally broken his silence on the rumours, setting the record straight to the Siya crew about his future. Read: Pitso Explains 'Strategic' Seabi Signing “I have had no discussions with any clubs in South Africa. I only know of approaches from outside of the country,” Baxter told the Siya crew. “There are coaches currently employed by the clubs in the PSL and doing an honest day’s work and it is not right to be having talks behind their backs. At the moment I am sorting things out with SAFA after my resignation and I may still be consulting up to a point where they can find a permanent replacement – whether it’s a phone call or text.” Baxter had enjoyed unprecedented success at Chiefs between 2012 and 2015, winning two Absa Premiership titles as well as two domestic cups in the MTN8 and the Nedbank Cup. He resigned there to take a job in Turkey before returning to SA as SuperSport United coach – again managing to lift the Nedbank Cup. Baxter, 65, stepped down from his second spell with Bafana Bafana last Friday despite still having three more years to his contract and not long after leading the national team to the quarter-finals at the Africa Cup of Nations, a feat achieved for the first time since 2002, away from home. Chiefs still have a contract with Ernst Middendorp for the next two seasons, including the one that has just kicked off. Read: 5 Reasons Why Pitso Could Snub Bafana Job
