Club Brugge kept their UEFA Champions League qualifying campaign alive after overcoming Dynamo Kyiv, although Percy Tau was sent off in the second leg on Tuesday evening.

Brugge had the slight advantage heading in to the tie after claiming a 1-0 win in the first leg in Belgium last weekend.

The Ukraine outfit bossed the early exchanges and were rewarded for their dominance when they took a fifth-minute lead. Vitalii Mykolenko played in Vitaliy Buyalskiy, whose right footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal was enough to beat the goalkeeper.
Tau received his first yellow in the ninth minute for a late challenge before Brugge equalised in the 38th minute. Ruud Vormer whipped the ball in to the box and Simon Deli finished with a well-connected header.
The home side restored their lead five minutes after the interval through Volodymyr Shepelev, making it 2-2 on aggregate although they needed nothing less than a win to advance.
Kiev's task was made tougher when Mykyta Murda was sent off after 82 minutes before Tau received his marching orders two minutes later.
However, the Belgian outfit levelled matters in the 88th minute. Lois Openda fed the ball to Vormer, whose right-footed shot had too much power for the goalkeeper.
There was more late drama as Brandon Mechele then put the ball into his own net in the 93rd minute to give Kiev the lead once again, but Krepin Diatta assisted Openda for the equaliser in the 95th minute to send Brugge to the next round.
