Neymar has not returned to Paris Saint-Germain for pre-season, and while his father has slammed the club for publicly reprimanding their player, the reason for his absence does not seem to have anything to do with his potential transfer to FC Barcelona.

The 27-year-old did not turn up for PSG’s start of pre-season on Monday which prompted the club to release a statement, saying they will take “appropriate action”.

New PSG sporting director Leonardo also addressed Neymar’s absence in a recent interview, but the superstar’s father has come out and slammed the club of his son for their public statements

"We had commercial and institutional actions (to carry out), the Neymar institution has been doing these actions for five years and we've always needed to do them each year," Neymar Senior told Fox Sports Brazil.

"PSG, in the presence of president Nasser (Al-Khelaifi), even participated in these actions.

"I don't understand the reason for the randomness. We're angry, but PSG knew about this situation."

The world finals of Neymar Jr’s Five will take place in Praia Grande, the birth city of the Brazil superstar this weekend on 12 and 13 July and Neymar himself has always visited the action.

The winners of the 40-team tournament will face a team of Neymar and some of his friends, which is the most likely reason why he has not travelled back to Paris yet.

However, his absence from training comes amid rumours linking him with a move to FC Barcelona, with the world’s most expensive player himself reportedly having already verbally agreed to a five-year deal with the Catalan giants.

Money is not grown on trees, this COW has a contract to honour. He thinks he can walk in an Arabian man's house takes what he wants and leave? He is going to pay the price for his arrogance this one. There's not gping to be any barcelona move for this COW, not in the next 2-3 years.
