Despite being one of Europe's biggest and most successful clubs, the Blaugrana have made some questionable signings over the years.
Five of the 15 players in the Daily Star’s gallery came from Arsenal: Emmanuel Petit, Marc Overmars, Aleksandr Hleb, Alex Song and Thomas Vermaelen. While the latter is still a Barca player, he has only featured 21 times for the club, despite arriving at the Camp Nou three years ago.
The likes of Francesco Coco, Geovanni, Gaizka Mendieta, Ricardo Quaresma and Dmytro Chygrynskiy lasted only one season at the Catalan club, with the latter being brought to Spain by Pep Guardiola.
The English publication also considered goalkeepers Roberto Bonano and Rustu Recber to both be flops at Barca – both lasted three years at the club, but did not play much football for the first team.
Maxi Lopez, Martin Caceres and Ibrahim Afellay also also among the club's worst signings ever, according to the Daily Star.
