Morocco have appointed the successor of Herve Renard, who resigned from his role as head coach after their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations failure.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation made former France and Paris Saint-Germain head coach Laurent Blanc their number one priority after Renard's exit.
However, the former Les Blues boss has reportedly rejected their offer and the RMFF has since turned to Vahid Halilhodžić - who recently resigned from his job at Ligue 1 side Nantes.
After meeting on Wednesday 14 August in Rabat with Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the RMFF the Bosnian has agreed to take the lead of the national team - with a mandate to qualify the Atlas Lions for Qatar 2022.
Halilhodžić, who will now have the liberty to select his own backroom staff will reportedly become the highest paid coach in African football.
According to LeSport360, sources close to the Moroccan FA have revealed he's agreed a monthly salary of €112 000 (R1.92m).
Halilhodžić holds extensive experience on the African continent, having won the Botola, CAF Champions League and memorably taking Algeria to the last-16 of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
