Former Amazulu head coach Joey Antipas has been announced as caretaker to the Zimbabwe national team for the remainder of 2019. Antipas holds experience of the national team with previous stints at the assistant coach and won the Zimbabwean top-flight in 2010 and 2015 with Motor Action and Chicken Inn FC respectively. The former Usuthu head coach succeeds Sunday Chidzambwa, who srepped down from the Warriors after their Group stage exit of AFCON 2019 - that was marred by off the field issues. The Zimbabwe Football Association have confirmed U23 coach Tonderai Ndiraya and new Harare City manager Lloyd Chitembwe will assist Antipas during his time at the helm. And their first task will be a 2022 World Cup preliminary round qualifier against Somalia, with both legs set to be played between 2 and 10 September. |
