Deloitte, one of the largest accounting agencies in the world, has published its latest Deloitte Football Money League report, in which the richest football clubs in the world in 2020 have been revealed.

According to the company's website, the Money League is the "most contemporary and reliable independent analysis of the clubs' relative financial performance".

This year's report sees Catalan side FC Barcelona climb to the top of the ranking for the first time ever. The Catalan side has also become the first team to break the €800 million mark after reportedly recording astronomical revenues of €840.8 million (R13.5 billion).

Barca's arch-rivals Real Madrid, who were beaten to the LaLiga title last season, dropped to second in the latest ranking after recording €757.3 million (R12.2 billion) in revenues.

Despite their on-field struggles, Manchester United remain the Premier League's richest team in 2020 after posting revenues of €711.5 million (R11.4 billion), while rivals and reigning European champions Liverpool maintained their seventh spot with €604.7 million (R9.75 billion).

Note: The Money League compares the clubs' ability to generate revenue from matchday (including ticket and corporate hospitality sales), broadcast rights (including distributions from participation in domestic leagues, cups and European club competitions) and commercial sources (e.g. sponsorship, merchandising, stadium tours and other commercial operations), and rank them on that basis.
