England coach Gareth Southgate has named a 27-man squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League finals, in which his side will attempt to lift their first trophy in 53 years.

Click through the gallery above to see some England stars who were snubbed for the Three Lions' latest squad.

The Three Lions are one of the four finalists and will face the Netherlands, who qualified ahead of France and Germany, in the semi-final on 6 June.

The final of the inaugural Nations League will take place three days later, with Portugal and Switzerland being the other two semi-finalists.

Southgate's men qualified from a group featuring Spain and 2018 FIFA World Cup runners-up Croatia, and will hope to lift their first international trophy since 1996, when they won the FIFA World Cup.

With the upcoming FA Cup, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League finals, players will reporting to England's training base at different times, with the stars from Liverpool only joining on 3 June, two days after the UCL final.

Fabian Delph, Joe Gomez, Jesse Lingard, Harry Winks and Nathan Redmond all returned to the squad, while the likes of Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and James Maddison missed out.

However, the latter pair might still be called up to England's U21 squad for the upcoming U21 European Championship.

Here is England's squad in full, as announced by the FA:

Goalkeepers: Jack Butland, Tom Heaton, Jordan Pickford

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Chilwell, Joe Gomez, Michael Keane, Harry Maguire, Danny Rose, John Stones, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker

Midfielders: Ross Barkley, Dele Alli, Fabian Delph, Eric Dier, Jordan Henderson, Declan Rice, James Ward-Prowse, Harry Winks

Forwards: Harry Kane, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Nathan Redmond, Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling, Callum Wilson
