Kylian Mbappe set a new UEFA Champions League record on Wednesday night, one not even Cristiano Ronaldo nor Lionel Messi has achieved.

After netting four goals over two legs against FC Barcelona in the round of 16, the 22-year-old netted a brace in Paris Saint-Germain's 3-2 win at Bayern Munich this week.

This was the Bavarians' first defeat in the competition since March 2019, making the victory even sweeter for PSG.

Mbappe was once again the man of the hour, scoring his side's first and third goals of the encounter.

Following his two strikes, and in addition to his hat-trick at the Camp Nou recently, the France star has become the first player in Champions League history to score five away goals in the round of 16 and quarter-finals in the same season of a UCL campaign.

Overall, the Frenchman has now netted eight times in the UCL this season – only Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has more, with 10 goals.

Check out the gallery below to see where Mbappe ranks among the top goalscorers in Europe so far this season!

@Lakaban yeah even with the injuries you can see stats are impressive, would love to see him enjoying his game as well as he did at Barcelona. Ooh i fully agree with you on Navas, I rate that goalie higher than most talked about keepers in Europe, i was baffled when Real replaced him with Courtoise coz i actually think Navas is better. He was brilliant for Real and he's still proving himself with some even more brilliant perfomances for PSG

@Thobz10, Neymar is still one of the great players, he has 2 problems injuries and dirty attitude. But last night he created 2 goals which shows how big of a player he is. When it comes to Kayla I think it's because he's not from a country that is big in soccer maybe if he was from Europe he would be considered as one of the greatest goalkeepers in the world

Neymar left Barca to be the main man and now he's overshadowed by this young man at PSG. i do believe though that if it hadn't been for the injuries then he'd be the main man coz he's simply a better player than Mbappe. great stuff from Mbappe though. Why is Navas so underrated??? i really dont understand
