Bartlett, a former Amakhosi player himself, has been brought in on a two-and-a-half-year deal as assistant to new head coach, Ernst Middendorp, with the former Bafana Bafana international teaming up with the German once again.
The two worked with each other during Middendorp’s first stint at the club when Bartlett was still a player, and the club will be hoping that they can hit the ground running when they come up against SuperSport United this week.
Kaizer Motaung, the Glamour Boys’ chairman, has had a busy week as he appointed two new members to their technical team, and the South African footballing legend believes that Bartlett can compliment Middendorp at Naturena.
Motaung told the club’s official website, “Shaun played under Middendorp at Chiefs… We were looking for somebody with a (good )stature at the coaching level. His technical understanding matched the profile we were looking for.
“He will bring with him a lot of international experience gained during his years playing in the US, Switzerland and England. We wish Shaun all the best in this new role at the club.”
Arthur Zwane had been working as an interim assistant following the exit of Patrick Mabedi alongside Giovanni Solinas, but it is now thought that Bartlett will take his place on the bench alongside Middendorp when Chiefs take on SuperSport tomorrow night.

Honestly!! I would like to wish Mr Middendorp a very good luck as he commence his job as a head-coach. However, I advice him to start by releasing players who are no longer useful if he really wanna do well during his course. Players like Parker and others who have been fooling us, must be replaced by new quality players. Middendorp must make a Shopping-List for this January transfer window. Here is a calalogue to choose five players from... Idris Mbombo(DRC-striker), Talent Chawaphiwa, Anthony Laffor, Themba Zwane, Gabadinho Mhango, Rainford Kalaba, Edmilson Dove, Elias Pelembe, Thulani Serero, Patson Daka, Lazarous Kambole, Clatous Chama. Middendorp must also bring back Lorenzo Gordinho. Honestly, if Bobby and Kaizer Motaung can join hands to support Middendorp and Bartlett with any tool they need, they can do better in the second half of the season. Honestly...
