The former coach of Masibusane ‘Zizou’ Zongo has commented about the player’s slow progress in his career.

Following a stint at Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila from January this year, the 30-year-old will be expected to search for a new club again, after he officially parted ways with the Limpopo outfit at the expiry of his contract in June.

Zongo joined TTM under Vladislav Heric, and speaking to the Siya crew, the Serbian coach has commented about the slow progress in the talented player’s career.

“For Zongo, I don’t know, I don’t know…(Sighs) I don’t know what to say but it’s a pity to see a great talent to end up like that. But it’s not about blaming only the player in his situation, we all know that the player cannot raise himself. We also need to take into consideration that his failure is also the failure of people who nurtured him, whether in management point or in coaching point,” said Heric.

“For some people, the mentality can be right from the beginning to the end but some people need advice and guidance. Whatever the disciplinary measures and whatever methodology we need for him to be right, we need to use it. But at some point we were too soft on this boy when we needed to jump in and be strict on him to change. I remember my strict professors more than any other people, because they are the ones who played a major role in my education,” the coach told the Siya crew.

The Mthatha-born player played in the ABC Motsepe League in Free State for D’General FC, before getting an opportunity to revive his career with TTM.

I remember Calvin Johnson, people used to say he's not for African talent when he bench this guy.
