Cape Town City's Kermit Erasmus has been advised on how to deal with the disappointment of not being called up to the latest Bafana Bafana squad, despite his impressive form for coach Benni McCarthy's team.

As it has become the norm over the years, after every announcement of the South African senior national team’s squad, there has been an outcry about some of the inclusions to coach Stuart Baxter’s squad, while others have been complaining about players that have been left out.

Most notably, there has been an uproar about Erasmus’ omission from the Bafana team that is set to play a crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya in Tunisia on March 24.

“Maybe there are different reasons unknown to us that Stuart Baxter has about leaving Kermit out. Bear in mind that he cannot call all the players. But I will advise Erasmus to keep on working hard. The supporters can see what he is doing and are happy with his performances. He must just keep his head up, he is a big boy now. His chance will come, he knows that,” former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Ntokozo Sikhakhane advised.

“At Pirates there were times he was not playing and when he got a chance to play he did well and went overseas. On his return from overseas, he got to Cape Town City and wasn’t at his best at first but he improved and is now doing well. Everything has its own time. If players can learn one thing and that is, if one hasn’t been called up it doesn’t mean that he is a bad player, but it means that he should work harder and that his chance will come,” added Sikhakhane.

Kermit should keep on working on his form there still alot of games coming for bafana he will be called we need experience in this game Any coach couldn't call a player basing on 3 goals you scored in the last five games you played when you've not been doing well in the past fixtures.

It has become obvious that Baxter in not the one who chooses the squad, these unfit and out of form overseas players he's chosen at the expense of on-form locals are going to cost us dearly!

Erasmus should do the country and himself a favour and just excuse himself from any national call ups. They are disrespecting him. And when the time comes for him to be selected, he will be expected to score everytime he touches the ball. He should just quit and focus on his club. People who know football know he is up there with the best.
