Happy Mashiane has burst onto the scene for Kaizer Chiefs this year following his promotion into the first team, however he now faces a spell on the sidelines.

The 21-year-old left sided player had to sit out the 1-1 draw with Polokwane City after sustaining a foot injury, and Ernst Middendorp went on to confirm that he faces around a month out as he recovers from the problem.

Mashiane’s injury means that he is expected to miss at least the Amakhosi’s games against Highlands Park, Maritzburg United and SuperSport United – games that they need to win if they’re to keep any hopes of the Absa Premiership title alive.

Chiefs’ official website quoted their head coach as saying, “Look at Happy Mashiane. He has been starting and gave us something extra in our approach. Now he is out for four weeks, not because of his form but simply because he got kicked and got injured.”

Mashiane’s problem will keep him out of action until the international break, however, he should be back in time to help the Glamour Boys in their Nedbank Cup quarter-final which is scheduled for the end of March.

According to the original fixture list sent out by the Premier Soccer League, the clash with Cape Town City is due for the weekend of March 30th.

Goalkeeper coach and fitness trainer should be fired at Chiefs. They are both useless. In fact the whole technical team is useless including Ernst Middendorp.
