Result: SuperSport United 2-1 Bloemfontein Celtic

Date: 13 January 2021

Venue: Lucas Moripe Stadium

Bradley Grobler became SuperSport United's all-time record scorer after scoring in the side's 2-1 win over Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday night.

SuperSport head coach Kaitano Tembo made just one change from the 3-0 over TS Galaxy as Jamie Webber returned to the side, with Mahachi dropping to the bench.

In similar fashion to the win over Galaxy, Gabuza handed SuperSport an early lead after turning home Sipho Mbule's corner on 13 minutes.

Seven minutes later though, Celtic were awarded a penalty when Ndumiso Mabena was brought down by Grant Kekana, which allowed Victor Letsoalo to slot home the equaliser.

After a number of squandered openings, SuperSport restored their lead on the stroke of halftime through Grobler, who became the club's all-time leading scorer after netting his 58th goal.

SuperSport continued to dominate in the second half as Lungu went close to adding a third goal on 53 minutes with a volley that sailed just wide.

Ronwen William came to SuperSport's rescue with 20 minutes left on the lock with a good save to keep out Phalane's effort Lantshene Phalane.

Celtic had a couple sights at goal as the second half went on, with Harris Tchilimbou going closest with a volley that sailed over the crossbar.

Nevertheless, The Tshwane giants were able to see out the latter stages to claim three points that takes the side up to second spot.
