Stellies Top Scorer Attracting PSL Interest

The Siya crew has been reliably informed that interest from within the DStv Premiership has been pouring in for Stellenbosch starlet Fuad Johnson.  

Despite the 19-year-old being the club’s runaway leader in the top goalscorer charts in their DStv Diski Challenge side, game-time in the Stellies first team has proven hard to come by.

Since joining the club from Highlands Park two years ago, Johnson has made just four appearances in the league for the Cape winelands outfit, all coming as a substitute in the 2020/21 season.

With the deadly striker’s chances in the Stellies first team proving to be limited, the Siya crew have been informed that the player has received his clearance from the club with a number of onlookers watching the youngster’s situation with keen interest.

According to well-placed Siya sources, numerous Gauteng-based clubs have all shown interest in the player, while there is a possibility of Europe in the works as well.

Johnson was also the subject of interest from Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns last year following his exploits in the Bayhill tournament where he finished as the top scorer although nothing came from the said interest at the time.

The Siya crew reached out to the player’s representative Ashley Rasool of Lion Sports Management; however, he was unavailable at the time of publishing.

With Johnson currently a free agent, it remains to see which team wins the race for his signature with indications that the record-breaker who became the youngest player in Highlands Park history at 16, could be back in the topflight next season.
