The 2019/20 season is just four games in, but several top-flight coaches are already feeling the heat and hoping to turn the tide soon.

Below, the Siya crew looks at the six Absa Premiership mentors flirting with the sack so early on, though a few have been skating on thin ice since the end of the previous season but have received a stay of execution.

Check out the gallery for these coaches’ records this season…

Wedson Nyirenda (Baroka FC)

It was on the final day of last season that Nyirenda’s team avoided relegation – managing just two points more than Free State Stars, who dropped to the NFD. The Telkom Knockout trophy looked to have been his saving grace, buying him more time.

Rulani Mokwena (Orlando Pirates)

Has been thrown in at the deep end, though many thought succeeding Micho Sredojevic would be equivalent to a cut and paste job after two years together in the dugout.

It’s understood that the Buccaneers are contemplating looking elsewhere if results don’t improve.

Lehlohonolo Seema & John Maduka (Bloemfontein Celtic)

The duo of co-coaches have managed to get the side playing some breathtaking football at times this season, but it’s often been to the team’s detriment. A lot of flair without positive results will soon call for a different approach.

Lionel Soccoia (Black Leopards)

The Siya crew reported last month that the Frenchman had management and players divided over his methods. And the club also recently rubbished a report that Soccoia was sacked – but his has been a rocky start at Lidoda Duvha.

Cavin Johnson (AmaZulu)

Clubs are known to make coaching changes during the international break and George Lwandamina, currently in charge of ZESCO United in Zambia, has already been linked with the AmaZulu job. Johnson himself has admitted he is a “dead man walking” due to Usuthu’s poor start to the campaign.
