Word reaching the Siya crew is that striker Mwape Musonda has finally resurfaced at his club having missed the first week of pre-season.
In a move that was seen as the Zambian’s attempt to try force a move away from Black Leopards, having also handed in a written transfer request which the Siya crew has seen, the burly forward did not report for duty on June 24.
His whereabout were explained as the player having needed an extra week to recover following a trip to Dubai, information that was apparently communicated to the club.
It now appears Musonda, the subject of interest from Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and his former club Orlando Pirates in recent months, has returned to the club – but could still be eying a move given his request to be sold.
Leopards chairman David Thidiela confirmed to the Siya crew last week that Musonda was for sale at the right price.
But so far there appears to be no concrete offers to Leopards for the 28-year-old forward, though indications are that there was a deal to buy him for R8-million from a club outside South Africa.
