Cape Town City have shaken up their goalkeeping department ahead of the new season with a former Pirates goalkeeper departing on loan, and the son of a former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper stepping into the first team.
Samora Motloung, who was on Orlando Pirates’ books for a solitary season in 2015-16, has left Cape Town City to join Cape Umoya United on loan for the upcoming campaign. The 24-year-old did not play a single game last season and will hope to play regularly in the National First Division.
With just Peter Leeuwenburgh and Sage Stephens to call upon, Benni McCarthy’s side have now promoted Mark Anderson Jnr to their PSL squad from their MultiChoice Diski Challenge ranks.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper is thought to be highly rated and is the son of former Bafana Bafana shot-stopper, Mark Anderson, who was in goal when Bafana Bafana played their first international match against Cameroon in July 1992. He won seven caps in all and was a teammate of McCarthy’s in the early stages of the latter’s international career.
Another young player who has been featuring regularly in pre-season is 19-year-old, Raphael Georgiades. The central defender, who was called up for a South Africa under-19 training camp after competing at a SAFA under-19 national tournament, has been playing for the club's MultiChoice Diski Challenge side for the last two and a half years and will be looking to break into the PSL line-up this season.
Cape Town City’s other off-season signings have been Abbubaker Mobara (Orlando Pirates), Tashreeq Morris (Ajax Cape Town), Dutch winger, Bernio Verhagen (Dinamo Tiraspol) and most recently, Mpho Makola (Orlando Pirates).

@Malusied Many times, but yet I would Prefer to watch the repeat videos of 1998 world cup and year 2000 to 2006 of Zinedine Zidane's times, than a live match where his sons are participants. I am a born free I did not see much of Zidane and International football prior to 1998. I watched 1994 world cup, but I was only nine, I can't tell much because matches were not broadcasted in South Africa.
