Al Ahly officially welcomed their new signings, which included Percy Tau although assistant coach Cavin Johnson was nowhere to be seen.

The Red Eagles have been busy in the transfer market, actively strengthening coach Pitso Mosimane’s side.

Percy Tau, Luis Miquissone, Moustafa El Badry, Karim Fouad and Hossam Hassan were all snapped up by the Egyptian giants, while Amar Hamdy and Ahmed Abdelkader have returned from their respective loan spells.

The squad had their first training session on Wednesday, where the new players were introduced to their teammates, following a seven-day break.

However, there was no sign of Mosimane’s second-in-command Johnson, who is believed to have resigned from his post as the club’s assistant coach.

The Siya crew has been informed that Johnson opted to remain in Mzansi and has not returned to Egypt with the rest of the South African contingent amid speculation that he has attracted interest from within the DStv Premiership.

There has been no official confirmation from Al Ahly on Johnson’s departure from the club as yet, although clarity on his future is expected in the coming days.

I hope pirates will not unveil him as a coach truly speaking he has done nothing special to deserve the hot seat at Orlando. But knowing the drunk screamer anything is possible with him 1 day he will scout a hobo for my pirates?

I know why Johnson is leaving, he is tired of being part of dirty tricks. There is no fair play practiced in the Northern Hemisphere. Chiefs should have got their star.
