Orlando Pirates have again had to reconsider a loan deal that was thought to be imminent, with one of their new signings being allowed to prove himself during the upcoming 2019/20 season.
The Buccaneers were ready to offload left back Tebogo Tlolane to Maritzburg United before the players told the club he would rather return to Chippa United if coach Micho Sredojevic felt he needed game time elsewhere.
But word reaching the Siya crew is the Pirates technical team, following an intense pre-season training in Rustenburg, have seen enough of Tlolane to allow him to complete for a place in the starting line-up alongside Innocent Maela, Bongani Sam and Paseka Mako, who can also play as a winger.
The 24-year-old was one of Pirates’ first signings recently having enjoyed a remarkable debut season in topflight football following his move from Jomo Cosmos to Chippa United last year. Maritzburg were keen on his services, but the player turned it down. He will now be staying put and attempting to displace first choice left back and Bafana Bafana international Maela.
