Arthur Zwane has taken his time going through the ranks over the years, and the Kaizer Chiefs legend has now given some insight into his career after stepping up to Bafana Bafana.

The former Amakhosi star made his name at Naturena when he spent a decade there between 2000 and 2010 before his retirement, and of late has been putting his experience to use with the club’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge team.

Zwane, 45, is working his way through the UEFA coaching badges after acquiring his CAF A and B licences, and his work was rewarded this month when he received a call-up to work with Molefi Ntseki for their game against Zambia.

Unfortunately the encounter with Chipolopolo – and then a replacement match with Madagascar – was called off, but it was still an important step for the coach as he looks to climb up the coaching ladder.

Giving a history of his progression as a coach, Zwane told Chiefs’ official website, “While growing up in Meadowlands, I was approached by the local youngsters to assist them with coaching their team… These youngsters were involved in playing in the local tournaments. They were not so organised, but I was able to bring a level of structure.

“Discipline was the first step in my talk with them. I addressed with them issues of alcohol and substance abuse. They responded well and started to become more committed and dedicated to their game.”

‘10111’ went on to give more information about his early days, saying, “I’ve was involved with Meadowlands Galatasaray while still playing here at Chiefs… I always applied all what I was learning as a Chiefs player to the youngsters. We were winning tournaments. I recall the Discovery Tournament which we dominated over a period of four years. All this happened between 2001 and 2007.”

Zwane will be back on the bench for Chiefs’ MDC side this weekend when they look to build on their 7-1 demolition of Bloemfontein Celtic when they go up against Polokwane City.

when ppl are given a chance, some complain, when they not given a chance, still complain. I am not sure what south Africans want anymore.that is why the so called Soweto giants struggle at times cos when the young boys are given a chance ppl complain,n when they not given a chance, they still complain.some fans go as far as making substitution on the stands not knowing what's going on behind closed doors,n boo the players.if the south African football fans need to see growth and improvement in our game we need to give support and encouragement to the up n coming.this applies to 10111 n other coaches who are still learning.10 TJARO AS I CALL HIM,YOU DOING A GREAT JOB KEEP IT UP,CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR BAFANA CALL UP.✌✌✌

I'll never forget the football thay Zwane played, From Jimmy Tau it goes to 10111 from there it goes to mbesuma or net straight, I remember we played Wits 10111 would collect the ball from goalkeeper then straight to net, Wits stadium was a half ground to 10111 and Mbesuma not forgetting the legend Jimmy Tau. It wasn't a magic just commitment & teamwork. Gone are those days where you know that when you go to stadium you will never be disappointed.
