Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has opened up on the side's finish to 2021 and is hoping they can carry on from where they left off to give log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns a run for their money. Amakhosi, currently in fourth place on the DStv Premiership standings, won two of their three matches in December. They are 16 points behind Sundowns, who have 11 matches left to play this season. “I think we closed the 2021 calendar on a high as a team. We were working very hard, we were working for one another and we were helping one another. So, I think we performed well as a team and we are looking forward to keeping the same tempo and same attitude,” Ngcobo said via the Amakhosi media department. "Going forward, we want to do well. We want to fight and make sure we win more games so that we can get closer to number one. We just have to work hard." Ngcobo's goal against Sekhukhune United in December was voted goal of the month. “I think it was a good goal. We created the goal as a team. We circulated the ball. It was very good, with Njabulo Blom finding me in the half spaces. I was able to turn and finish. It was a team goal." View the top scorers of 2021: |
