With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said to be set on selling striker Romelu Lukaku, Manchester United have reportedly identified a striker they believe can lead the line for years to come.
According to The Sun, the club is targeting Olympique Lyon forward Moussa Dembele ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
United manager Solskjaer is reportedly keen to replace the spine of his side, starting up front with Lukaku, who has had a disappointing season.
The Belgian, who spent long spells out of the team due to poor form, finding the back of the net just 15 times across all competitions in 2018/19.
The Red Devils are believed to be planning a £40 million (R725 million) bid for Dembele, who spent time playing in England with Fulham between 2014 and 2016.
The 22-year-old moved to Celtic in Scotland on a free transfer upon his exit from the Cottagers, before signing for Lyon last year.
The French forward has scored 19 goals in 44 matches since his arrival in France in August 2018.
