After his impressive performances at the 2019 Copa America, Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus appears to have hinted that he is frustrated at Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

Alves Responds To Angry Messi's Copa Claims

The 22-year-old contributed to four goals in six matches for the Selecao at the tournament, scoring in the both the semi-final against Argentina and the final against Peru.

At times, it can be argued that Jesus has been more important for his national team than he has for City, where he has often played second fiddle to Sergio Aguero.

After winning the Copa America, the striker is hoping to play more of a starring role in the upcoming 2019/20 campaign, but also insisted he does not want to place any pressure on his club boss.

"I want to be involved and I want to help my teammates, respecting my manager," Jesus said, according to ESPN.

"But, of course, I'm hoping to get minutes. Last season, I didn't play as much, but I expect and wish to play a little more, not to put pressure (on Guardiola), but on myself.

"Sometimes I don't play as much as I wanted because of me. I've got to be strong and work hard. If I get the chance, I won't let it go."

Stars Who Left Their Clubs On Bad Terms

Jesus has scored 18 goals and assisted a further eight strikes in 35 matches for Brazil, while, for City, the young forward has found the back of the net 45 times and set up a further 16 strikes in 100 appearances.

Do you think Jesus will get what he wants in terms of more game time next season? Let us know in the comments section below.

International football is truly complicated. For years Aguero has not performed well for Argentina and Gabriel Jesus has been perfoming for Brazil for the last few years. But at a club level Pep would always pick Aguero as his number one striker
