Both Willard Katsande and Happy Jele maintains that their teams will go in to the Carling Black Label Cup encounter with the same competitive mentality as any other fixture.

The two Soweto giants will lock horns on July 27 at the FNB Stadium to see the return of the CBL Cup after it was cancelled last year due to the FIFA World Cup.

Speaking at the launch, Katsande reflected on Chiefs’ past season and how it is important for them to turn their form around, starting by giving their fans something to brag about next month.

“As you know that the season wasn’t good and it is quite embarrassing, to be honest. Wherever we go, people are laughing at us. We take the criticism to turn it into positives going to next season so that we are going to work hard.

"Even if we play for whatever against Pirates, it is always a competitive match and we always treat it with respect and we always try to give our best. When you’re representing Kaizer Chiefs, you just need to give the fans something to talk about tomorrow when they’re going to work,” Katsande said.

Pirates’ captain, Jele, then went on to point out that winning the CBL Cup will be good for their morale in the new season with regards to finally putting an end to their trophy drought.

“We’re going to start (our pre-season) with the Carling Black Label Cup and it will help us to get the morale of winning trophies. So we’ll start with the Carling Black Label Cup and show that we mean business. We’ll show that we want to win some silverware this season, so we’re going to start with this one… This Cup is important to the fans and we need to deliver to them and cherish them the way they support us each and every game. I think we’ll beat them,” he said.

@Tksiba hehehehe look at SSU's position on the log(prior season) and compare it to Chips position on the log and tell me who will be relegated first if we were to reduce the league teams number from 16 to 8 teams!
