Jadon Sancho marked his return to the starting line-up with a hat-trick as Borussia Dortmund thrashed Paderborn 6-1 in the Bundesliga on Sunday evening.
Sancho finally earned a re-call to the starting line-up after only starting the bench in the last three games while the visitors were also without Erling Haaland and Mahmoud Dahoud.
Dortmund enjoyed the early possession but it was the hosts who had the first opening after 11 minutes when Dennis Srbeny broke on the counter before picking out Antwi-Adjei, who fired wide from close range.
The visitors did manage to carve out a couple chances of their own, with Thorgan Hazard and Raphael Guerreiro being denied in the 18-yard are before the midway point of the half.
Lucien Favre's side had an opportunity to enter the halftime break in the lead but the returning Emre Can blazed over the crossbar after being afforded a lot space in the box.
Dortmund got their reward in the 54th minute as goalkeeper Leopold Zingerle parried Can's effort into the path of Hazard, who made no mistake from close range.
The second goal arrived three minutes later as Sancho marked his return to the starting line-up by slotting home from close range after some good work by Julian Brandt.
There was hope for Paderborn after being awarded a penalty after 71 minutes when Ziolinski's shot struck the arm of Can, which allowed Uwe Hünemeier reduce the deficit from the spot.
However, any hopes of a Padeborn comeback was put to bed three minutes later when Sancho completed his brace with a neat finish into the bottom corner after collecting a pass from Hazard.
Morocco international Achraf Hakimi added to the score-sheet for the visitors in the final five minutes with a neat drilled finish into the far corner, while Marcel Schmelzer made it 5-1 in the 89th minute after turning home Axel Witsel's cross.
There was time for Sancho to complete his hat-trick in as the England international was afforded time and space to pick his spot from close range as Dortmund moved back to seven points behind Bayern Munich.
