Stuart Baxter will be announcing the squad for the crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier away to Libya next month, and he revealed to the media recently that he expects all his regulars to be back fit from injury.

Keagan Dolly, Bongani Zungu, Bradley Grobler, Dean Furman and Kamohelo Mokotjo did not feature in Bafana Bafana’s 1-1 draw at home against Nigeria in November last year, but most of them appear to have recovered and are likely to be called up for the qualifier late next month.

Itumeleng Khune, however, remains sidelined because a shoulder injury that has left him in danger of missing the Afcon should South Africa qualify. Khune was confirmed to be out for the rest of the season by Kaizer Chiefs.

With all the missing players – during different periods – Bafana were still able to beat Seychelles 6-0 and hold off group leaders Nigeria to a draw at FNB Stadium, although the biggest disappointment was the stalemate away to Seychelles just days after they had put six goals past them.

“I believe we will be a different team against Libya because when we played them Percy Tau was a bit flat after his move to Belgium. We did not have Bongani Zungu and Lebo Mothiba also on the pitch,” Baxter said.

He said Zungu was back in training, a story also reported by the Siya crew last week, and so was Dolly.

Having a key player is that what cn kill other playes spirit when u call them to replace yr key players. I prefer if u say i wish all player who are injured a speed recovery and all south african players who plays in psl ,nfd ,mtsipe and abroad to be avalable when i call them . That will gv them spirit to give there best and prove that any one can play for nation team .for example look at pirates and sundowns there playing a caf facing all side of africa so i thnk they do better if u call the likes of .lonch, jele, maela, maboe, themba zwane, mabunda, kekane and jabulani maluleke for quality and expriance in the middle

Back at training and straight to the national team and we expect to qualify? It just means the talk about form is just that. I definitely wouldn't care about qualifying when we'll be there to add numbers and improve Baxter's CV, nothing more.
