Baxter's Failure To Field The Best Starting Eleven Cost Us A Place In Russia - Reader’s Voice

Bafana Bafana gave away the greatest opportunity to qualify for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia next year and I put the blame on our coach Stuart Baxter.

Baxter's failure to field the best starting eleven cost us a place in Russia.

Playing the weakest team twice in our group gave us the advantage, if only we capitalised on the opportunity which was right in front of us.

I had a lot of respect for Baxter after what he did at Kaizer Chiefs with limited quality but after the last two matches against Cape Verde, I was left very disappointed with his system, organisation, technical ability, structure, tactics and poor substitutions. He completely got it all wrong. Dean Furman does not come close to Jali, Kekana or Mokotjo because he just runs around doing nothing.

Gobbler does not come close to the likes of Erasmus, Serero and Tau. Manyama was awful in the first match but he was his first substitution during the second match and was again awful. His midfield should have been Jali, Kekana or Mokotjo and Dolly, Zwane, Tau and Rantie upfront. Substitutions should have been Erasmus or Serero if match fit and Ntshangase and Zungu should be in more attacking roles.

It was clear that he does not like Percy Tau, the best player we currently have in SA. Baxter must allow our players to play our SA brand of football not what he thinks is right for us which has killed our chances to qualify.

We won’t beat Burkina Faso and Senegal with such a weak coach who seems clueless just like Kaizer Chiefs' Steve Komphela.

In his competitive game against nigeria he used almost same system wich shakes used and confessed by saying he didnt want to change a lot for the sake of continuity amlnd it worked wonders.we had ball playing guys in dolly, zwane, serero who were our weapon with kekana and furman behind and latet tau and grobler.but to my suprice you brought on 2 playes who got red carded over a weekend and took their form to bbf(furman and mathoho)and started with inexperiencenl manyama that was your down fall

If south africa should learn to recruit players from rural areas more especial in Easten Cape, that will be the time where we see hunger pple nt these spoiled players. R10.000 is enough for us to play for a national team even R2000

If he started with Jali or Mokotjo in Mabhida & use 4-4-2 not that 4-3-3 coz he never used it the players are not used to it & there's Mphahlele when we attack he plays like a winger when they play 4-3-3 he can't do that

The best National coaches that have brought smile and accolades for this country is Barker (1996 AFCON Chamionship) , Dr. Jomo Sono (1998 AFCON 2nd Spot - Silver Award); Trott Moloto (2000 - afcon 3rd Spot - Bronze Award) Shakes Mashaba (Mzantsi U20 beating Brazil)With Stuart Baxter shame we are in a Wasteful Expenditure, Junk Status that needs a serious radical transformation

He really want to make Bafana Bafana Supersport and Chiefs, and that has cost us dearly. Kekana is always outplaying Furman in the Tshwane derby but he prefer Furman than Kekana, he leave the likes of Serero, Erusmas, Jali, Tau outside for Grobler. #SAVESA. #Baxtermustgo

He's very arrogant&stubborn.Internationa l stage needs those kinds of players who are so special, brave&accountable. Some one with a lion heart, who aren't scared to die on the field with their boot on,the like of Jali&Kekane.Special players like Serero&Tau.You can't leave behind Chiefs and Pirates players on this stage, they have been there in 1996 Caf set up and they never disappoint.Today you can find Supersport&Wits dominate Bafana Bafana setting and you tell me we are going to Russia,no
